Welcome to the Spartan Game Zone

Spartan Game Zone

When MSU basketball won the championship in 2001, I was too young to fully grasp and appreciate the significance. But by March 11, 2005, I found myself crying on a friend's couch when Alan Anderson missed two crucial attempts in the final 10 seconds, allowing Iowa to clinch a 71-69 victory in the Big Ten Tournament. That moment marked the beginning of my intense and unhinged fandom for Michigan State University sports, particularly basketball and football. The exhilarating March Madness run that ensued only fueled my passion further, immortalizing players like Alan Anderson, Shannon Brown, and Mo Ager as legends in my mind.

Since then, I've been an unwavering follower, religiously tuning in to every football and basketball game and staying abreast of recruiting news and developments on a daily basis. I attended MSU from 2009 to 2013. And the highlight of my time at MSU was the opportunity to work for the MSU Football team. As a student employee, I may have been the lowest-ranked person in the building, but I had the chance to interact closely with the players and coaching staff. Stay tuned for future posts where I'll share some stories from those days.

Post-graduation, I found myself spending countless hours on platforms like 247, Rivals, On3, and various other MSU news sources. Additionally, I make it a point to listen to every podcast available. I'd like to take a moment to express my gratitude to individuals whose work has been a constant source of insight and enjoyment over the years: Graham Couch, Justin Thind, Steven Brooks, Corey Robinson, DK, Jack Ebling, and Matt Sheehan.

In launching this blog, my aim is to bring my thoughts and perspectives on Spartan sports. If I can contribute to the knowledge or enjoyment of even one fan out there, then I consider this mission a success. While I'm uncertain of what the future holds for this blog—whether it'll gain traction, be shelved in a year, or if my posts will simply disappear into the digital abyss—I'm grateful for any support, whether it's a like, a share, or a recommendation to a friend. As I embark on this new venture, I welcome feedback, ideas, and engagement from all who stumble upon Spartan Game Zone.

Thank you for visiting, and as always, Go Green!
