• Plays Small Forward

• 2023-2024 Season Frankie played 33 games and averaged 36 minutes per game. Put up 20 PPG, 6.3 REB, and 2.6 AST. Very efficient with 45% FG, 85% FT (Top 5 in Summit League) and 35% 3P.

• The advanced metrics are very strong.

• PER of 25.1 (#1 in Summit League).

• TS% of 59.5% (Top 10 of Summit League). For comparison, Tyson was 53.5% and Hall was 59%

• eFG of 51.1% (ranked Top 10 in Summit League). For comparison, Tyson was 50.9% and Hall was 55.7%.

• This X post by Justin Thind highlights how Frankie can create on his own and how efficient his shot selection is. 65% of his attempts are either at the rim or behind the 3 point arch, with high Shooting %. And even the shots at the elbow are high %.

Frankies Fits

• Last year, MSU struggled with 3-point volume. Frankie ranked #15 in the Summit League for 3-point attempts and 3 points Made. He has a 33.3% 3-point rate, so 1/3 of his shots are from 3.

  • He will be replacing Walker's 32.1% 3-point rate.

• Rebounding was also an issue for the team last year. While I don't think Frankie will average 6+ like he did at a lower level, he can chip in. His TRB% of 10.4% is solid.

  • For reference, Hall was 11.7%.

• Frankie's Usage % at Omaha was 26.9%. That's very high, but he was the best player on their team last year. If you're wondering what a 26.9%. USG Rate looks like, Walker's USG was 29.3% and Hall was 22.1%. I wouldn't expect Frankie to be featured as much at MSU as he was at Omaha.

• His efficiency noted above will make it easier for him not to carry as much of a load but still have a huge impact.

While on the subject of USG% and how the team will look, Barttorvik is a great resource. I alluded to how Frankie can semi-offset the departure of Tyson and Hall. But what about Hoggard and Sissoko.

• Hoggard's 2023 USG was 22.8%. This will be offset by increased roles for Holloman (2023 14.9% -> 2024 Projected 18%) and Fears (2023 14.3% -> 2024 Projected 20). No concerns here.

• Sissoko's was 12.4%. No concerns here either as Booker, Cooper, and Kohler can take those reps. They just need to produce (ORTG).

  • Barttorvik projects a jump for Booker to 21, Cooper to 15 and Kohler to 19.
